Mission Completed!

The first CNYLA conference was a great success! Croatians from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and Cleveland joined the CNYLA for three days aboard the Majesty of the Seas on Royal Caribbean for an experience no one will ever forget!
Amidst the tropical sun and endless ocean horizons, the Croatians represented full force on land and on board. First destination: Miami, Florida. The night before we were to set sail many of us gathered in Miami to relax and enjoy the local scene. The light summer breeze combined with the energy that is Miami set forth for a wonderful night of dancing at the famous Mango's Cafe on Ocean Drive. The Cuban locals may have been confused a bit when a random kolo dance started in and outside of the club. The CNYLA successfully left its mark.
The next day we were off to cruise on the deep blue sea. Proudly displaying their CNYLA logo pins, the group joined around the Island Bar on the Majesty of the Seas to say goodbye to Miami and hello to the Bahamas. As we said Bon Voyage to Miami, we all enjoyed a Set Sail Happy Hour followed by dinner and dancing.
Waking up to quiet waters and a very hot sun, we were all very excited to be at our Second Destination: Cococay, Bahamas. Pristine waters, white sands, tropical drinks. The perfect location to gather some young Croatians for group activities. We proudly raised our flag on the beach and held a Twister Tournament and a Flip Cup Challenge!
Both events brought a sense of friendship and brotherhood amongst all those who participated. Following our day in Cococay, we all gathered back on the ship for dinner and a Mardi Gras celebration hosted by the CNYLA. Masks on and dancing shoes ready, we sailed and danced the night away.
The sound of the port the next morning reminded us all of Croatia. Third Destination: Nassau, Bahamas. Our last and final day on the ship started with breakfast followed by an open forum in the conference rooms for all to join. Those who participated enjoyed discussions of the future of the CNYLA, shared stories of our similiar backgrounds, and exchanged contact information with each other. An open day gave freedom for all in the group to explore Nassau in all its beauty and splendor.
The final evening was a night to remember. Royal Carribbean transformed their theatre into a virtual mega football field. Wide screen tvs with uninterrupted sattellite coverage of Superbowl XLII covered the stage while a full buffet of snacks and finger foods covered the aisles. The NY Croatian fans gathered into the theatre to expierence an amazing game. "THE GIANTS WIN THE SUPERBOWL!" After much excitement and running on board cheering our victory, the night ended with a goodbye party at the disco.
The CNYLA thanks everyone who participated for Conference 2008. We hope to see you all (and more!) again in 2009!!!
